Dr. Ali A. Farooqui is a managing partner at Integrative Psychiatry and the Kentucky Center for Advanced Neuromodulation where he provides person-oriented brain-based psychiatric care to his patients. He is the medical director and founding partner of Healthy Minds Tennessee. Dr. Farooqui is also a consultant for legal practices and district courts in Kentucky, pharmaceutical companies, mental health device companies, and psychiatric clinics nationally.

 

He is a national expert in Interventional Psychiatry including transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), ketamine, Botox, Vagal Nerve Stimulation, PRISM neurofeedback treatment, psychedelics, and other neuromodulation techniques for the treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders and symptoms.

Dr. Farooqui received his bachelor’s degree and medical doctorate at the University of Kentucky. He did residency in neurological surgery at the University of Missouri and completed psychiatric residency at the University of Louisville. He has worked in private equity and healthcare administration settings focusing on operations, revenue cycles, systems development, and business development.

​In addition to his medical work, he is heavily engaged organized medicine as well as community and philanthropic endeavors. He has held administrative, leadership, and consulting positions in numerous organizations such as: clinical professor at the University of Louisville Department of Psychiatry, associate director of the University of Louisville Depression Center, course director of interventional psychiatry service and didactics at the University of Louisville Department of Psychiatry, treasurer of Kentucky Psychiatric Medical Association (KPMA), chair of KPMA scientific committee, co-chair of scientific committee of Southern Psychiatric Association (SPA), chair of SPA research committee, member of the ketamine taskforce for the National Network of Depression Centers (NNDC), member of the NNDC psychedelic taskforce, board of trustees of NAMI-Louisville, board of trustees of Kentucky Science Center, board of trustees Kentucky Psychiatric Medical Foundation, board of trustees Greater Louisville Medical Society, board of trustees Greater Louisville Medical Society Foundation.
